Difficulties in Preventing Dementia

Cognitive decline progresses slowly over time. Dementia is a condition in which cognitive decline interferes with daily life. Dementia causes irreversible cognitive decline, making early detection extremely important for prevention and treatment. However, early symptoms of dementia may present as other age-related changes, often preventing early detection.

Dementia is becoming a global issue with more than 55 million people diagnosed worldwide. Experts expect this number to reach 65 million by 2030 and to triple to over 152 million by 2050*1, increasing future demand for testing and prevention.

In response, we must make highly accurate information on the risk of dementia, appropriate prevention methods, and risk factors available to as many people as possible.

Advantages of SupportBrain®

1.Analyze the entire brain

Conventional dementia risk testing with image diagnosis only analyzes atrophy in the hippocampus or other selective parts of the brain. ERISA worked with Shimane University School of Medicine and Shiga University of Medical Science to develop SupportBrain®, which analyzes the entire brain. SupportBrain® tests based on large amounts of AI data, precisely analyzing atrophy in local areas of the brain. This outstanding AI technology enables more accurate assessment of future dementia risk.
